Kimchi House

On the night we arrived in Jasper, we went to Kimchi House, the only Korean restaurant in Jasper. The food was very authentic and satisfying, and it received five-star reviews! If you don’t want to wait in a long line, you can call in advance to reserve a seat (see the picture below).

On the first day in Jasper and the fifth day in Canada, we wanted to change our taste and found Korean food, so we went together. Unexpectedly, there was no barbecue, nor the biggest feature of Korean food. The good custom of giving kimchi side dishes and porridge before meals was gone... The taste can only be said to be okay, because we have eaten too much Western food. There was only one waiter, and we had to raise our hands to serve the dishes after ordering the dishes separately. We bought beer in the store next door, which only has three halls, but we were not allowed to drink. I felt unhappy instantly. It was no different from forced consumption. When checking out, in addition to tax, we also had to pay a 15% tip. We didn’t want to give it, and the clerk was very unhappy and said we had to give it. There was a notice at the door saying that tips must be paid for more than 5 people. If you don’t like it, you can just not come to eat! What kind of attitude is this? There are six or seven pieces of text or pictures on the small glass on the door. Who would look at each one? There is no obvious mark. We should be informed when we enter the store or when we order. We originally ordered and paid separately. If we were reminded, we would sit separately, or we would not come to eat. When we asked questions, the Korean old lady in the store said in English that she was Chinese. I thought it was very strange. Can't we say something unreasonable? Tipping is supposed to be a recognition of your service. The dishes are slow, the menu is not collected after ordering, and the empty plate is not collected after eating. Where is the service? Tipping is allowed. I choose how much to give voluntarily. If it is forced to give under certain conditions, it is not enough to just post it. There were no more than five people in the store during our meal, so it is not excessive to remind more than five people! The tip is not much, but I am not satisfied if it is forced. It was originally a pleasant trip. Your store also hopes to do pleasant business. Tell us in advance about possible unpleasantness!

It is on the second floor of the visitor center on the glacier adventure trip. I was in a hurry and saw this restaurant to fill my stomach. I was very happy to see dumplings after not having Chinese food for a few days. It was neither good nor bad. p6 Kimchi House (Jasper) Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the few Asian dishes in the town of Jasper, and the only Korean cuisine. Objectively speaking, compared with Korean food in other places, the taste is mediocre. But it is completely acceptable to eat Asian food like this in this town. p7 The Raven Bistro (Jasper) Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A family restaurant in the town. There are novel dishes, such as venison sandwiches. The service is very good. Seeing that we are tourists, they chatted with us enthusiastically. The dishes are worth experiencing, ⚠️Be careful of the pork chop thunder. p8-9 The Emerald Lounge (Fairmont Jasper) Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The restaurant in the Fairmont Hotel maintains high-quality products, coupled with the unbeatable lake view outside the window, surrounded by nature, carefully savoring high-quality ingredients and dishes.
