palawa kipli is a Tasmanian Aboriginal food business that is 100% owned and operated by Aboriginal people. In the Tasmanian Aboriginal language, palawa kani, &quot;palawa&quot; means &quot;Tasmanian Aboriginal people&quot; and &quot;kipli&quot; means &quot;food&quot;. Palawa Kipli aims to contribute to the continuation and revitalization of Tasmanian Aboriginal culture by combining traditional foods and land management practices.
Palawa Kipli also runs the Kipli Takara Tour: a 90-minute bush tucker walk through the rich landscape led by an Aboriginal guide, where visitors can taste seasonal local bush foods and learn about Aboriginal history and culture. After the experience, guests can also enjoy unique native snacks and drinks, or choose to taste a six-plate high-end native food package.

As soon as you open the door to this beautiful heritage building, you&#39;ll be pleasantly surprised by the two beautifully designed bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sophisticated open plan living and kitchen bathed in natural light, combining elegance and functionality.

This restaurant is so unassuming but it&rsquo;s the third time I&rsquo;ve been and my companions were very happy with their experience. The lighting and decor give a comfortable, intimate yet quirky atmosphere. The music is at just the right volume. The food was fresh and produced in house. There was only one negative comment from the group and that was that the Wilbur burger was supposed to have blue cheese on it but they couldn&rsquo;t taste it and it seemed to be just plain cheese. We had a really great time and felt it was good value for money. Although we chose to BYO, there was an interesting choice of non alcoholic options on the menu too. Thank you for a great meal.
