We all enjoyed our meals. It’s a shame that wanting to have some Chips with our main meal was lost somewhere and they didn’t arrive in time.
We went there two nights in a row. The first meal we had was excellent, both food and service. The staff was kind and attentive to detail, and everything was great. The second night - the meal I'm evaluating here - was just the opposite. There weren't kids' chairs available (despite having lots of kids because it's on a family-friendly hotel, they only have a couple of those) and the suggestion was to get pillows from our bedroom. We had no choice, as the chairs are too big and low for our kids. Then, one of our kids' meal was wrong, and was sent back. It took a little while to get the right dish and then our meals took about 15 minutes to get to the table (we both ordered tortellini). Our kids had already eaten and had to wait for us to get to the dessert. The waitress was completely lost: she got to our table when we finished and asked if we were done, which we said yes. She just replied "ok" and turned her back on us and went to another table. So we waited for her to come back. She didn't.After waiting for about 5-10 minutes, we asked another waiter to bring us the dessert menu. As people were arriving to dine, we waited again for about more 10 minutes for the menu to arrive... We had to call him again, who was basically doing most of the work, and then asked for ice-cream for the family. Surprise, surprise, no ice-cream, because "it's not ice-cream time, only during Summer". Disappointing. We just left and felt sorry for not having gone anywhere else for a meal. The main point here is: when the staff changed, the quality dropped - and we felt sorry for the last waiter for doing everything the others weren't doing, But that's how you lose money and customers.
service was a bit slow
Excellent experience. We ordered chanfana and cod with cornbread. The chanfana was great, it was the first time we ate it and it was really good. The codfish fell apart with every bite, the cornbread was very crispy and the kale was just right. The staff is very friendly. We were very well attended to and the place makes an excellent reference to its gastronomic history.
Best Chanfana ever, very nice place and good service, even the dish of the day was great and knowing that we are supporting a social association is something I identify with Lunch after the visit to the biological park was magnificent
