The atmosphere and surroundings add another level to the exquisite meal.
Started was a simple and hearty minestrone. So far so good. Main course was a tasteless overcooked breaded fried chicken where the butter and the breading had amalgamated into a fatty tasteless gloop. Roast potatoes were reheated (from when?) and inedible and tasteless. Waitress was friendly but then disappeared. I had to go looking and eventually found her scrolling on her smartphone in a corridor. Bread at the table was tasteless (apparently - my partner tried). The whole lot was also surprisingly expensive. The most disappointing meal in our 4-day stay in Umbria.
There were several dishes that were very good but several that were not good at all. The sirloin dishes were not great cuts of meat and the porcaccia (pork dish) was cold and very grisly and we had to ask for it after we were all done eating. In fact, he couldn’t even eat it. The pollo (chicken) was delicious as was the carbonara. We did not share our concerns as no one asked or came back to check on the meals. This is the first time that we all went to a Michelin star restaurant so perhaps we were thinking it would be fantastic?
Excellent in every way. From the breathtaking view and the food nothing short of sublime. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be back.
Excellent location, having lunch outside you have a beautiful view. The staff is kind and friendly, the dishes are genuine and carefully prepared, the environment is informal, but very well-kept
