Muangxay, Muangxay, Oudomxay, it is amazing that a city name has so many translations. The current English pronunciation is Oudomxay.
The northern part of Laos is very suitable for cycling or motorcycles, and there are also many mountain hiking routes. Muangxay is one of the stops. Nearby are the karst cave Chom Ong Cave and Muang La with hot springs, as well as ethnic minority villages.

🚘 Transportation:
1. The slow train of the Laos 🇱🇦 section of the China-Laos Railway stops twice a day. LCR can purchase tickets to check the train schedule.
2. See Figure 8 (visitor center information) for the long-distance bus schedule to other cities. There are also buses to Vietnam 🇻🇳.
3. The city is very small and can be walked. The tuktuk ticket from the high-speed rail station to the city center is 30,000k. Show the driver the address and he will take you to the hotel door.

🌅 Urban attractions &amp; experiences:
1. Wat Phu That is on a hill, where you can watch the sunset. Watching the sunset and listening to the monks chanting scriptures makes you feel relaxed.
There is a pink house under construction on the way to the temple, which is the best place to watch the sunset, woods and river view.
2. Like Luang Prabang, there are also alms activities here in the early morning. The monks of several temples have various actions, which are much smaller but more local. Around 7:00, the locals on the street will prepare the items for alms, and you will see them after a while.
3. The local tourist center seems to organize papermaking and cooking experiences, but it is closed on weekends and I didn&rsquo;t ask.
4. Tailue Handicrafts by the river can buy kudzu bags and the like, 👀 locals weave cloth and visit houses. 📸️ Very good photos!
5. Red Cross is an NGO project that teaches locals first aid, and it is also a very popular herbal sauna and massage shop.

🥗Food:
1. Oudomxay Night Market has barbecue, rice, noodles, hot pot and everything. I tried two restaurants and they all tasted good 🉑️ and I didn&#39;t turn into a jet fighter.
2. Souphailin Restaurant sells northern Laotian dishes. The boss lady is very Buddhist. I ordered salad 🥗 and the vegetables were freshly picked and washed... It tasted very good!
The guestbook in the store is very interesting, and there are many talented contestants from all over the world.
3. There is a decent cafe downstairs in Charming Lao Hotel☕️.

🏡Accommodation:
1. There are few online stores and they are expensive, so you can just walk-in. The city is very small. Click on the map to find the area with the most pink dots, which is the best location.
2. The newly opened wild luxury NamKat Yolapa in Muang La is suitable for friends who like to get close to nature or stay in a hotel.
