During this trip to the Dominican Republic, I really took a journey across the entire country, across mountains and seas - from Punte Cana in the east to Pedernales, the border with Haiti in the west; from the saltwater lake Lake Azuay in the south to the pristine secret Front&oacute;n Beach in the north; from the lowest lakebed of Lake Enriquillo (46 meters below sea level) to the highest central mountain range, where the highest peak in the Caribbean, Mount Duarte, is located. This is a journey across latitudes, altitudes and ecosystems.

From the perspective of seeking natural beauty, the journey is not always smooth. For example, the local operator of Isla Sorna, which was originally planned to land on the island, lost contact after accepting the order; Alto Chaon was unable to enter because of no advance reservation; I missed flocks of flamingos in the southern lake area; and in Jarabacoa, two popular waterfalls were closed due to safety or weather reasons. But these regrets during the journey were replaced by infinite warmth because of the locals I met along the way.

In the Dominican Republic, I deeply felt the enthusiasm, kindness and sincerity of the people in this land. I have received active help from passers-by on unfamiliar streets many times; every time I ask for directions, I always receive clear guidance and warm smiles; taxi drivers and merchants are mostly honest and trustworthy, and they never cheat or force customers to buy or sell; as long as you make eye contact on the road, locals will take the initiative to say hello to you; I have never felt hostile or greedy eyes here. It is this strong human touch that makes me believe that the Dominican Republic is a very suitable country for free travel. Its beauty lies not only in the scenery, but also in the hearts of the people.
Of course, there are still some problems that need to be improved: first, the garbage disposal system is weak, garbage classification and recycling are generally lacking, and some natural areas also have obvious garbage accumulation, which is regrettable; second, the traffic order is loose, especially the large number of motorcycles, driving at will, pedestrians are difficult to get courtesy, and self-driving travel requires special attention to safety; third, the service facilities in some remote scenic spots are not yet perfect, and there is still room for improvement in visitor centers, catering and accommodation.
Despite many challenges, this is still a Caribbean trip full of color, soul-touching and vitality.
