After visiting the permanent site of the Boao Forum for Asia, we went to the thousand-year-old fishing port, Tanmen Fishing Port, which is known as the "Gateway to the South China Sea" to eat seafood. We chose Hainan People's House, which is highly recommended online. We went there late (after 2 p.m.) and were turned away. We chose one or two more restaurants, but they were closed for lunch. After walking for a while, we saw the Old Fishing Port Seafood Restaurant, which could accommodate us. After ordering the dishes, we found that this restaurant also had a 5-point rating online. The grouper we ordered was the number one recommended dish, so we also added the second-ranked steamed scallops with vermicelli and garlic. ✌️The dishes tasted good, and the key was that the store gave people a full sense of honesty. The dishes were clearly marked at real prices and were not promoted. Tanmen Fishing Port is one of the closest ports to the Nansha Islands on Hainan Island. Only fishermen from Tanmen Town would go to Sansha in the South China Sea to fish since the Song and Yuan Dynasties more than a thousand years ago. Without Tanmen Town, there would be no Sansha, so a seafood feast is a must here! The overall response to the Old Fishing Port on the Internet is good. In the evening, we went to Wenchang and stayed at the Time Print Hotel in the city center. It was cost-effective and conveniently located. When it comes to eating seafood in Boao, I think Lao Yugang Seafood Restaurant (Tanmen Store) must have a name. The price-performance ratio is very good! The second meal was grouper (only about 70 yuan for one vs. 228 yuan for steamed grouper at Lupo Xute Restaurant!), prawns, white snails, coconut rice and other 6 dishes cost a total of 190 yuan.
