The taste of the dishes is quite satisfactory and the service is OK.
Two travelers from the US, enjoying their first real meal since landing in Madrid. We were made to feel extremely welcome in spite of our rudimentary command of the language so far. We both opted for the five course truffle focused lunch. Courses included roasted eggplant with lightly sweetened yogurt and some finely grated black truffle, followed by calimari pasta with fresh mushrooms in a mushroom broth, large shaving of the same truffle. Two medallions of cod seared perfectly with a thia corn sauce as well as a nice barley and roasted veg side ditto on the truffle. This was followed by two large medallions of venison over au gratin potatoes with a light mustard smear and pine nuts with of course a generous amount of said truffle. Dessert was a flan incorporating finely shaved truffle in a honeyish reduction which was over the top decadent! All this for 75 euros, which would darn near be just the cost of said truffle in the states. Highly recommended!!!
The menu descriptions did not correspond to what was served. Specifically the "symphony of wild mushrooms" (no foie, no truffles, no egg) and the sous vide cochinillo orejas.. about 5 bites served with discolored brown carrot sauce and no truffle, not even truffle oil). I called their attention to this but was told "that's how it's served here". Huh??? Charged over €50 for what felt like two mediocre half ration tapas. The roasted lamb was ok but nothing special. You know when food was prepared with much care, attention and love -- and this really wasn't. The only saving grace was the dessert While the chocolate souffle was undercooked, it was still delicious and came with a gorgeous mint sorbet. Total bill was around €120 including 1 scant glass of wine and one bottled water.I have come to rely on the Michelin Guide for food recommendations but this was a big mistake. Will not return.
Everything was good. A lot of creativity and quality in all dishes.A little bit pricey.
Great place, service was excellent and the food was delicious.
