Aux Vieux Paves

The food was classic French cuisine, good portion size, deliciously tasty and not pricey. The restaurant itself has a great ambience and a lovely location in this medieval city. However I think on the night we visited they must have been short staffed as the service was very slow. Hopefully this was a 'one off' and it would not stop us from returning.

Wonderfully, totally, enjoyable French dining experience... the food and wine were superb, the service from our young waitress was superlative, and the ambience was spot on... we have no hesitation in recommending it...

We visited on a busy Saturday for lunch - reservations were necessary. The server had a lot of tables to take care of but she did a great job with a lot of spirit! The food was excellent - we loved the onion soup, escargot, duck and lamb shank. Desserts were a treat! Wine and beverages were also very good and well-priced, We enjoyed our visit and can't wait to go back when we next visit Semur-en-Auxois.

Nice people but the first course of smoked salmon was good quality salmon but old salade and presentation bad , small serving for 14 euros . Rump steak , tough and un eatable , chips horrible , soggy and full of oil , sad piece of salade .
