The place was nicely decorated and we were received warmly by an older gentleman who appeared to be the owner. Our waiter, on the other hand, was a different story altogether. He wasn’t exactly rude, but it was clear that he was very tired and had no interest in doing anything other than just shuttling plates of food to tables. A smile goes a long way in this this business, and it’s a minimum requirement in my book for anyone who works with the public. It is possible to be tired and reasonably pleasant at the same time, and I don’t think it is too much to ask of a waiter. The food was of acceptable quality for the most part, and some of our dishes were quite tasty. However, the bread was very dry and some other dishes seemed a bit overpriced considering the size of the portions. The desserts were surprisingly good, especially the ponche Segoviano.
