Fort Augustus is at the south west end of Loch Ness. The village has a population of less than a thousand and the economy is heavily reliant on tourism. Lying on the impressive 60 miles long Caledonian Canal, halfway between Fort Willam and Inverness. Visitors can explore the surroundings by taking the Loch Ness cruise. It is a wonderful place to stop and relax, plenty of restaurants and shops to entertain you.
