Nice park in the city Center
Beautiful park located right in the centre of Fukuoka.Very easy to get to by subway. A very public place for local people and tourist to spend their day of weekdays or weekend.most important it free admission.
I took about 1 hour to walk around the park and to the tiny island in the middle. There are peddling swan boat available for rent, cafes available too. You can walk your dogs easily here.
Will highly recommended a visit here to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park which offer .

Canal city has a good mix of different shops to suit different tastes. There is a cinema. A very good selection of food outlets and restaurants. The colourful water fountain has regular shows in the evening. You can also claim your tax back from your shopping here. Great way to do shopping and pick up souvenirs as well as eat yummy food.

The commercial prosperity of the city's old city is mainly concentrated in the historical commercial district named Tenjin and the two places around JR Hakata Station. The Zhongzhou Kawabata area between Tenjin and Hakata Station is historically an industrial area with a very weak commercial atmosphere. Relatively depressed. In order to redevelop the area that is not prosperous, and to integrate the divergent neighborhoods of the Tenjin and Hakata Stations, and to prosper the entire Fukuoka area including the Kawabata area of Nakasu, it is planned to redevelop on the former site of Fukuoka. To build a large-scale comprehensive facility integrating shops, restaurants, business offices, theaters, entertainment, etc., with the aim of promoting the common prosperity of downtown Fukuoka. This is the Canal City of Hakata Water City.
Hakata Canal City is one of the most successful large-scale commercial centers in Japan. It is a successful example of the perfect combination of Japanese planning and American design. It has created a new concept and format of Japan's comprehensive SHOPPING MALL, which has driven Fukuoka and Japan as a whole. The shopping mall provides a landmark model for the development of large-scale integrated commercial facilities in Japan.

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Uminonakamichi Seaside Park - Fukuoka
The Uminonakamichi seaside park is a must visit when in Fukuoka. The park is situated by the seaside and it is highly recommended to hire a bicycle or an electric scooter to explore the park as it is very big. The park features a variety of attractions, however some of the main highlights are the zoo (which allows you to get very close to some animals such as capybaras, kangaroos and many more), the aquarium and the flower fields (which also features a flower museum). Depending on the season, the park features a range of different flowers, which gives the park a different feel and look. Lastly, one of the best activity to do at the park is cycling by the seaside. The park has dedicated bike paths which make cycling very easy.

Uminonakamichi
This park is such a lovely and peaceful place to visit. It is just one hour trip from the city center and you can either take a train or a boat.
The park itself is quite big so good to have one day escape from the city and be in the nature with fresh air!
And if you have extra time, I would really recommend to visit the aquarium just next to the park, now it is a lot of to see inside and I’m sure you enjoy fully;)
Uminonakamichi Seaside Park
#springblossom A big seaside park. Many facilities exist including bike rental, food court, playground, flowers part, goals court, etc. It must be a joyful day with family and group trips.
In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossom and other flowers blooming showing a stunning atmosphere and beautiful scenery. You can rent bicycles to ride around the park, however; in the high season, the bikes could be sold out before you could rent it due to high demand. Therefore, I recommend that after you get off the train you should go directly to the ticket counter then to the bike rental store immediately 😅. As for my experience, I was enjoying the scenery, then the bikes were out of stock before I could rent. But I also enjoy walking around. For those who like walking, it would be another wonderful experience. Enjoy different flower parks from one to another!
Recommend to spend a whole day if you wish to visit there!

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park
#japantrip A Nice national park for family and everyone to enjoy the natural. Can get there by local trains from Fukuoka main station. I was lost due to insufficient google map.
Customers rent a bicycle with very cheap fee. It is a good place for picnic. One of the most surprising sites when I was visiting the Fukuoka area. I did not expect such a great quality park with careful planning. I was just expecting a random park next to the ocean, but it was full of joy. The Forest of the Animal was a really good quality small zoo. If you have a kid, that small zoo could be the sole reason to visit this park. A lot of well maintained bike roads and it was so good to ride a bike and enjoy the fall weather in Fukuoka

This shrine was recommended to us by the tourist information advisor. We are so appreciative of her tips. We were wide eyed with wonder the moment we arrived there, our attention captured by the 10 meters tall giant float decorated with interesting traditional figures and scenes. At least one hour is needed to explore the grounds and examine the many fascinating items of interest which includes a well surrounded by three cranes - there is a legend that water of this well grants longevity and eternal youth.

The modern Fukuoka is the largest city in Kyushu developed on the shoreline-dependent port, but earlier on, the banks of the Hakata Canal were the center of the region.
It is not surprising that the oldest upper-end commercial street in Hakata, centered on the Kushida Shrine, is surrounded by historical museums gathered around it.
Kutada Shrine is the Hato-General Guardian Temple built in the last Heian period in ancient Japan. Later, Toyotomi Hideyoshi revival Hakata was once again carried forward.
Fukuoka citizens who believe in Shintoism regard the Kushida Shrine as an important shrine.
Putian will welcome the most popular Hakata Gion Festival in Kyushu in July each year. Many tourists will come here to visit one of the most exciting scenes of the festival: Following the mountains. In each of the 7 different genres, 26 men and women dressed in cloaks and robes are armed with mysterious legends and ancient samurai figures, pavilions and flowers, and the gorgeous mountains are surrounded by crowds. In unison, he shouted the number and went into the Putian Shrine for a week, then went on the street to start a competition for speed and strength.
This huge mountain is displayed in the Putian Shrine, and you can enjoy the exquisite structure without catching up with the festival.
Not to be missed, one of the oldest shrines!
Fukuoka Kizukata Shrine is a historic shrine located on Mount Fukuchi in the Chuo Ward of Fukuoka City. As one of the oldest shrines in Fukuoka City, it was established in 757 AD and has a history of a thousand years. As the guardian shrine of Fukuoka City, Kizukata Shrine attracts many people to visit and pray for good fortune and blessings.
The architectural style of Kizukata Shrine is full of traditional Japanese charm. The gate to the shrine is exquisitely crafted, and the temple is a magnificent building. The temple's roof is covered with red plant-dyed tiles, which are very beautiful. Inside the temple, the main deity of the shrine is enshrined, where people can offer prayers and libations.
The forests surrounding the shrine are a beautiful place suitable for walking and enjoying the natural scenery. There are also some trails and stone steps in the forest, which are great for hiking and exploring. If the timing is right, you can also participate in the festivals and ceremonies held by the shrine to experience the local unique culture and traditions.
If you plan to visit Fukuoka Kizukata Shrine, here are some tips and strategies:
- Best time: Kizukata Shrine holds various festivals and ceremonies throughout the year, such as the cherry blossom festival in spring and the fireworks festival in summer. If you want to experience these events, it is best to check the official website or ask locals in advance for specific dates and event details.
- How to pray for blessings: Inside the shrine, you can purchase items for blessings, such as amulets and red seal stamps, to pray for good luck and protection. Of course, you can also pray on your own by offering prayers and libations at the altar in front.
- Precautions: When visiting the shrine, please observe some basic etiquette, such as not wearing overly revealing clothing, not taking photos or videos, not smoking, etc. At the same time, respect the local religious beliefs and customs, and maintain quiet and cleanliness.
