"Basum Tso" also known as Cuogao Lake🌊, in Tibetan means "green water". The lake is at an altitude of 3480 meters, located 36 kilometers from Bahe Town, Gongbujiangda County, in the upper reaches of the Bahe River in the high mountain valley, it is a famous sacred lake and holy land of the Red Sect. In August 2017, it became the first natural scenic 5A tourist area in Tibet. 🎡 Attractions: 1⃣ Island in the heart of Basum Tso A small island in the middle of Basum Tso, connected to the land by a floating bridge. Tourists can walk up via this bridge or take a small boat. Legend has it that the island is a "hollow island", i.e., it is not connected to the lake bottom and floats on the lake. Basum Lake is about 3700 meters above sea level, the lake is about 18 kilometers long, the lake area is about 27 square kilometers, and the deepest part reaches 120 meters. The shape of the entire lake is like a new moon embedded in the deep valley. Basum Lake is the first 5A natural scenic spot in Tibet, and it is also the holy lake and holy land of the Nyingma Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Basum Lake is the largest glacial barrier lake in southeastern Tibet. According to research, during the Ice Age, as the earth's temperature rose, the glaciers covered here also began to move.
