Good Introduction of the Old mine Village of Hachimantai
We just found an old SL car on the way to Aspite Line, Hachimantai, Japan. It was just next to the Matsuo Mine Museum. You can see so many stuff to know the old people's life here. No English Sign...
The history of the prosperity and decline of the once prosperous mines and neighboring towns is on display. Free admission, the staff will kindly guide you. The equipment used in the mine and the parking lot are exhibited even the electric locomotives of the mine railway. Recommended for railway enthusiasts
The heritage of the glory Matsuo mine. It was a 50-year life expectancy until the sulfur mine, which was called paradise on the clouds, was replaced by oil. The paradise brought by sulfur, which is the raw material of gunpowder, fertilizer, rubber, and match, is now only in operation an intermediate treatment plant for soil pollution. Shooting is prohibited in the museum. It is a pity that I did not go to industrial ruins such as apartments left in the mountains.
