Matsushima is located on the east coast side of Miyagi. It is one of the must see coast side area in Japan. The scenary around the area is amazing. You can take JR to there if you are not driving. It is closed to Sendai, so it would be great for a day trip or so from Sendai. There are many small islands around and it would be excellent to take photos on the hill so you can capture the whole beautiful scenary.
