Koryu-ji Temple

The temple, located on the hillside of Yumizu, Hakodate, Japan, was built in 1633 (Kuanyong 10 years), originally located in the Kagoda area, and was relocated to the temple site today in 1879 (Meiji 12). Later, due to the fire, the temple was partially rebuilt in 1900 (Meiji 33), and the mountain gate was renovated in 1911 (Meiji 44), which is the oldest temple in Hokkaido. The beauty of Gaolong Temple's architecture and sculpture is worth watching carefully, whether it is the temple or the heavy mountain gate, it can be described by carving trees and painting buildings. The whole building is at first glance only the simplicity and elegance of the Buddhist temple, but because of these vivid and exquisite carvings, there is another charm, walking around the temple, visitors will be impressed by the ancient temple. As for the interior of the Buddhist temple, you can stop and enjoy the Sakya Nirvana Tu, 500 Luohan statues, and the soothing monument of soldiers who died in the war in the box hall called "the sad stone monument". The Kaolong Temple next to the foreigners' grave is the oldest temple in Hakodate. The existing main building was built around 1900. When we went there, it seemed that we were undergoing a major renovation, so we couldn't get in completely. There is a dragon spit table inside, it looks very cute, like a constant drooling. The wooden buildings of the high-rise temple are very elegant and can be studied carefully. There are no tourists.
