Baihesi （North Gate）

The White Crane Temple in history is under the White Crane Peak of Yangshan Mountain, also known as Chengzhao Temple. It was first built in the Huichang period of the Tang Dynasty. At that time, a family surnamed Ding donated the mansion of Baimajian (according to legend, the former residence of the immortal Ding Lingwei, who flew to turn a crane) to build it. The temple flowed out, and the name of the temple was changed to Xianquan Temple. At that time, there was a courtyard in the temple. Because of the thousands of white lotus flowers in the pool, it was also called Bailian Temple. Historical records [Yangshan Zhi] Chengzhao Temple, under Baihe Peak, also known as Baihe Temple, has two courtyards: one is called Xianquan, and the other is called Bailian. In the Huichang period of Tang Dynasty, Ding Mou's house was a temple, which is said to be Ding Lingwei's former residence. [Hushu Guanzhi] Chengzhao (Jiao) Temple, Yangshan Mountain, under Baihe Peak, was first built by Ding Shi Baimajian in the house of Baimajian in Huichang of Tang Dynasty, and then the foundation of Cao Xuanzuo's ancestral hall was rebuilt here after Longxing Temple monk Zhiyi raised the foundation. [Records of Fengqiao Town] Gaojingshan City God Temple is located on the side of Gaojing Mountain at the top of Xieyanling, which is separated from Dayu Mountain and Gaojing Mountain. It is unknown when the temple was built. … Gaojingshan City God Temple was demolished in the late 1950s and 1960s. Later, due to the quarrying of the mountain, even the foundation of the temple site was also eradicated. In the 1980s, folk pilgrims set up simple temple houses on the northeast half of the mountain without authorization. In 2000, 6 more temple houses were still built for incense.
