#fallingforfall This is one spot that I’ve always wanted to visit since I came to Suzhou, but because of the the location, and a few other reasons, I just never got around to it. however, this place was well worth the trip. I is located in the gusu district of Suzhou and it is a gorgeous park, rich with vegetation and culture. at the center of the park, you can see this amazing structure which is the tiger hill tower. one interesting thing I noticed though was that when you get closer to the tower, you would actually notice that it isn’t completely straight and it leans over to one side. this is one place I definitely recommend, you just need to pay an entrance of 70 yuan 👌🏽 #mountainview #awesomepic #passionpassport #nationalpark #suzhou #suzhougarden #tripblazers

First built entirely out of wood during the later period of the Five Dynasties (907-959) it was completed by the second year of the Song Dynasty (959-961). It’s complex structure and vibrant colours were a point of admiration for many throughout China. The Tiger Hill Pagoda is seven floors and tops out at an impressive height of 48m, making it the oldest and largest pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River and holds in important distinction in Chinese architecture, history and art. Leaning Tower: The Tiger Hill Pagoda leans some some 4 degrees to the North. Therefore the tower is often affectionately referred to as the Leaning Tower of Pisa in China. However, the Tiger Hill Pagoda predates the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The pagoda weights approximately 6,000,000kg, has seven stories and is eight sided and is supported by internal brick columns. The tower seen today is a double walled brick pagoda. Interesting Fact: In 1957, efforts were made to stabilize the tower and prevent further leaning. Concrete was also pumped into the soil forming a stronger foundation. During the reinforcement process, a stone casket containing Buddhist scriptures were found.
