In order to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the New Fourth Army Taihu Guerrilla Chongshan, on February 4, 2010, in the beautiful Taihu Chongshan in Guangfu Town, Suzhou New Fourth Army Taihu Guerrilla Memorial Hall officially opened. Chongshan is a small island located in the West Taihu Lake of Guangfu Town, less than 3 square kilometers, living with hundreds of farmers and fishermen, remote location, surrounded by lush reeds, is one of the main camps for Taihu guerrillas. In 1944, the New Fourth Army Taihu guerrillas were besieged by the Japanese army in the small island of Guangfu Town, and they were able to escape safely after 20 days with the full assistance of the local people, which is the famous "Chongshan siege".
