What people are saying:

Tourist to England, this stop to England's Yorkshire, the castle in North Yorkshire, is owned and inhabited by the Howard family of generations. The castle was originally built by the third generation of Charles Carlisle, who was sealed in 1692 and commissioned John ∙ Van Burr to design and build this luxury Baroque Howard castle in North Yorkshire. In front of the castle is an English garden, with arched windows full of neatly veneered windows, and huge arched alcoves with exquisite statues that, together with the dome, embody the Baroque style. Entering the main entrance is the antique corridors of the castle, which contain a large collection of 18th and 19th century antiques.

    Spend your money elsewhere

Of all the attractions we have visited during the pandemic, this is where we felt least safe. Very little evidence of Castle Howard successfully implementing a Covid safe environment. Not only this, ...

    Poor value for money

Beautiful house and grounds and staff were lovely wherever we encountered them but £13 per person isn’t value for money when not including the house. The gardens are great to wander but more needs to ...

    Loved our visit

One of the main reasons for visiting North Yorkshire was to visit Castle Howard. We booked a visit for the gardens and grounds first of all then discovered the house was reopening on 31st July our las...
