Hung Shing Temple

The Hongsheng Temple in Wan Chai, which was built between 1847 and 1852, was originally a small altar on a stone and facing the sea, but after many reclamation, the current Hongsheng Temple is in the heart of Wan Chai inland. Hong Sheng is a god in charge of ocean and meteorological, closely related to fishermen, farmers and sea trade merchants. Hong Sheng Ancient Temple was renovated for the first time in a hundred years in 2015, and the renovated ancient temple continues to preserve its characteristics and style.

Looking at the history, Wan Chai Hongsheng Ancient Temple is a building in the Qing Dynasty. It has been located here before the Opium War and has been more than 150 years old. The ancient temple is not big, but it is really antique compared to the surrounding city development.

Wan Chai Post Office was first seen halfway down the road from Central to the left and right. Hong Kong Island is a very magical place, it has the world's largest density of office buildings and a variety of tall modern buildings, but at the same time, it also retains a lot of small, old buildings with a strong sense of history, and these old buildings are in place, almost unimportant to pass by so missed. Fortunately, roadside signs also give a slight description of where and where there are monuments, but when you really stand in front of these monuments, it's difficult to find detailed instructions (sometimes at the door, sometimes only in the travel brochure). For example, the Hongsheng Ancient Temple, a small one, looks inside from the door. It is so densely packed with gods and Buddhas that I dare not enter it, because I do not know whether it is for tourists or private collective ownership.
