About Hongtong: Hongtong County is situated in the southern part of Shanxi Province, facing the northernmost part of the Linfen Basin. It has the largest population of any county in Shanxi Province and is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese people’s ancient civilization. Hongtong County has a long history and resplendent culture. The Nüwa Tomb in Hongtong County’s Hou Village is said to be the final resting place of the great ancestor, Nüwa, who used stones to patch the sky. Hongtong County’s Dahuai Shu Memorial Garden is known both at home and abroad as a memorial to the migrants of the Ming dynasty. It is a sacred site for millions of immigrant descendants searching for their ancestral roots. The nearby Guangsheng Temple has a long history and is well-known for its magnificent size. There are many famous sites and longstanding folk customs in Hongtong County. The county is one of the most well-known in all of China.
