About Huanggang: Huanggang is situated in the east of Hubei province, south of the Dabie Mountains and on the northern banks of the Yellow River. The city has a rich history with numerous historical attractions. The Song dynasty artisan Bi Sheng was born here, the inventor of the world's first movable type technology. Other famous historical figures from here include Li Shizhen, the Ming dynasty author of the Chinese medical book Compendium of Materia Medica, and the early 20th Century poet Wen Yiduo. Popular attractions include the Dongpo Red Cliffs, Qingyun Pagoda and Tiantai Mountain.
