Cangjie Muyu Cangjie Temple

Cangjie Temple is located in Shiguan Town, Baishui County, Weinan City. It was built to commemorate Cangjie, the ancestor of writing. Cangjie Temple is facing Huanglong Mountain in the north and Luohe River in the south. It is unknown when it was founded, but according to the records of Cangjie Temple Stele, the temple was quite large in the fifth year of Yanxi in the Eastern Han Dynasty (162 AD), and has a history of more than 1800 years. Cangjie Temple sits north to south, surrounded by earth walls, high walls and thick walls, and the pattern is complete. The whole group of buildings from south to north on the central axis are respectively the Zhaobi, the mountain gate, the front hall, the newspaper hall, the middle hall, the sleeping hall, and the tomb. On both sides of the main building, there are East and West Theatre Buildings, Bell and Drum Towers, East and West wing rooms, etc., totaling 70 houses. Most of the existing buildings in the temple were built in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, with gorgeous decoration and strong local colors. There are 18 ancient steles preserved in the temple, among which "Cangjie Temple Stele", "Cangsheng Bird Trace Stele", "Guangwu General Stele", "Song Da Song Canggong Stele" and so on are precious objects in the history of Chinese calligraphy. In 1975, Cangjie Temple Stele was moved to Xi'an Forest of Steles Museum. There are 48 ancient cypresses in the temple courtyard, which are towering, lush and lush. Together with the ancient cypresses of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum in Qiaoshan and the ancient cypresses of the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong, they are known as the three ancient ancient cypresses in China. Among them, there is an ancient cypress beside the mountain gate called "Terrorist Cypress". According to legend, there was a thief who wanted to enter and steal. In addition, there are many ancient cypresses with their own characteristics, such as "Magpie Dengzhi", "Erlong Playing Pearl", "Danfeng Chaoyang", "Kuixing Dianyuan", "Qinglong Playing Cypress", Baolian Lantern, "Danfeng Chaoyang" "Dragon claw cypress", "Baohuai cypress" and so on.
