Huayin Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Mount Hua Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Mount Hua in Shaanxi | The most dangerous mountain in the world
⚠️Precautions:
1️⃣Weather: Check the weather in advance on the official blog of 'Mount Hua Scenic Area' and choose a suitable weather to start.
2️⃣Water: Water is too heavy, don't bring too much! Don't worry too much about the high prices on the mountain, they are all within an acceptable range.
3️⃣Food: The climbing process is too tiring, not too hungry and don't want to eat too much. Before departure, I prepared some small snacks like Snickers, ham sausage, bread compressed biscuits, which are basically sold on the mountain, and the price is more expensive than usual, which is understandable.
4️⃣Clothes: Just wear a T-shirt and sweatshirt for climbing. The climbing process will be very hot, and the temperature on the top of the mountain will be very low, so you need to bring thick clothes!
5️⃣Gloves: They will be used when holding the iron chain. The supermarket at the foot of the mountain sells a pair for two yuan. It will be very tired later, so you can use your hands and feet directly.
6️⃣Headlight: It is necessary for night climbing! Some places have no lights, and the battery is 15 at the foot of the mountain. We used our mobile phones to light the way all the way, don't mention how troublesome it was. (Climbing stick: Say it three times, no need, no need, no need‼️)
7️⃣Photography: Girls generally don't wear makeup when they climb at night, so sunglasses, masks and hats are necessary! You will sweat during the climbing process, and it is overnight, so it is not recommended to wear contact lenses, wear them when you reach the top. Selfie sticks and tripods depend on personal circumstances.
8️⃣Essentials: ID card, student card, power bank, data cable, tissues, wet wipes.
⚠️Tour route:
〰️Go north and west〰️
Yuquan Courtyard-North Peak-Central Peak-East Peak (sunrise)-West Peak-Tourist Center.
⚠️About the cost:
Xi'an North-Mount Hua North: Round trip 109💰.
Tickets: Students 80💰, adults 160💰.
West Peak Cable Car: Students 126💰, adults 140💰.
Downhill bus: 40/person💰.
Carpool high-speed rail station: 5/person💰.
⚠️Small tips:
It's best to have a companion if you're alone, it's safe and not boring along the way.
The initial part of the climb is not tiring, you need to save your energy, the later part is very steep and consumes a lot of energy!
The Mighty Mount Hua
Mount Huashan is a very famous mountain in Shaanxi province near Xi'an as the root of Chinese culture. On this one of the "Five Mountains" in China, you will encounter the most dangerous hiking trail, gorgeous sceneries, temples, and cable cars.
Getting there: 25 minute fast train from Xi'an north station.
Tip: Climb the mountain at midnight and arrive at the peak for the stunning sunrise.
If tired, take the cable car down.

Huashan Mountain-Hike in Shaanxi
A short train ride from Xi'An, Huashan mountain is one of the famous “Five Mountains” in China. 🏔️
Hiking on Huashan Mountain is very popular and many Chinese want to visit the mountain. On the top are various small tempels, view points and walking routes.
🚄 I took an early morning train from Xi'An and rested a little on the train. From the train station it's a short bus ride to the entrance of the mountain.
🚶I climbed the whole way, but there also is cable car, in case you want to save some time.
🎫 150-230 RMB depending on the season. ❗Huashan is open 24hours and many people choose to climb the mountain during the night.

Mount Hua: A Perfect Combination of Challenge and Scenery
Mount Hua, historically known as the place 'with only one path', is renowned for its steepness compared to the other four great mountains of China, with a difficulty level that is truly top-notch. Although my knees showed their fragility in the face of the challenge, aching as I descended and forcing me to stop at the five peaks with regret, every step was filled with excitement and awe.
✈/🚅 Travel Tips:
Depart from Beijing West Station and take train Z19 directly to Xi'an Station, then transfer to Metro Line 4 to Xi'an North Station, and finally take train G672 to Huashan North Station. Upon exiting the station, there is a bus stop on the left hand side; for just 5 yuan and a 10-minute ride, you can reach the tourist center and begin your Mount Hua journey!

Take the North Peak cable car up and the West Peak cable car down: More uphill walking, testing your stamina and strength.
Hike from Yuquan Courtyard: The most difficult, but also the most challenging route, suitable for hiking enthusiasts.
Don't forget to try the thrilling experiences of the Plank Walk and the Turn of the Sparrowhawk; although you may need to queue, they are definitely worth the wait!
🌟 Exploring the Five Peaks:
West Peak: Excellent cable car experience, reaching the summit in just a few minutes.
South Peak: The summit of Mount Hua, limited space but bustling with crowds.
East Peak: The perfect place to climb at night and watch the sunrise.
Central Peak: Relatively low-key, less visited, and more serene.
North Peak: Conclude the journey of the first four peaks, welcoming the final long downhill challenge.

Mount Huashan - China 🇨🇳
Located in ShanXi Province, about 120 kms from XiAn City, Mount Hua is one of the Great Five Mountains of China, chosen by their geographic locations to represent 5 Elements, 5 Cosmic Deites, and 5 Cardinal Directions ( East, South, West, North, Plus Center). As Imperial Pilgrimage sites throughout Chinese History, these five Mountains are very popular tourist attractions. Representing West, Metal and White Deity, Mount Hua has the highest mountain peak among them all , characterized by its steep Cliffs and rugged mountain slopes. If you love Mountain adventures and sceneries, China should be on your priority list indeed. It is recommended that you should try your best to avoid Public Holidays in order to avoid crowds ---- Which is a tip applied to all tourist attractions in China. Xiyue Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Genuine historical relics, check in at Shaanxi's "Little Forbidden City" - Xiyue Temple
Xiyue Temple, located in Huayin City, Shaanxi Province, has a history that can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. It is a sacred site of the mainstream Quanzhen School of Taoism and one of the important Taoist temples of Mount Hua. Emperors throughout the dynasties would come here to worship the god of Mount Hua. Unfortunately, while the visitors to Mount Hua are numerous, very few make their way to Xiyue Temple. When you step into Xiyue Temple, the solemn and majestic complex of buildings almost makes you feel as if you have visited the Forbidden City itself.
Transportation: Drive from Xi'an, directly navigate to Xiyue Temple
Ticket: 15 yuan for a single ticket, but if you buy the Mount Hua package ticket, it already includes the Xiyue Temple ticket so there's no need to purchase another one
If you like taking portraits, wearing Hanfu would be a good choice
The first temple of the Five Sacred Mountains, 'Huashan Xiyue Temple'
'Xiyue Temple' is the first gate to enter Huashan, a place where emperors or imperial ministers worshipped the mountain gods. It was first built in the early years of Emperor Wu of Han (134 BC) and has been around for more than 2100 years. Xiyue Temple faces north and south, confronts the Lotus Peak of Huashan, covers an area of 215 acres, and is 5 kilometers away from the gate of Huashan. Xiyue Temple has a grand royal architectural style, with high walls, deep courtyards, painted beams and carved buildings, and solemn halls. Although it is not the Forbidden City in Beijing, it has the same majestic momentum as the Forbidden City. Emperors such as Tang Xuanzong, Song Zhenzong, and Emperor Kangxi have visited Xiyue Temple and held grand ceremonies. 'The awe-inspiring power is close at hand, the Lotus Peak, the vicissitudes of life, the Xiyue Temple.'
The "Little Forbidden City" around Xi'an, with beautiful photo opportunities, don't squeeze into Guangren Temple anymore
The "Little Forbidden City" around Xi'an, with beautiful photo opportunities, don't squeeze into Guangren Temple anymore.
The Xiyue Temple at the foot of Mount Hua in the west is known as the "Little Forbidden City of Shaanxi". It is a relatively niche tourist spot! It was established in the Han Dynasty and has always been a key place for emperors to worship the god of Mount Hua.
The Xiyue Temple covers a large area and is a palace-style ancient building in the Ming and Qing architectural styles, very grand and majestic. Here you can overlook the main peak of Mount Hua, which shines under the blue sky and white clouds. There are not many tourists, so it's quite quiet and leisurely.
Taking photos in Ming-style or cheongsam and other national styles will be very outstanding~ Strongly recommend to friends who like to take pictures of red walls. Enter from the main gate, visit each hall, and then return from the right city wall, the scenery is absolutely beautiful! You can overlook the entire panorama of the Xiyue Temple~
The ticket price is 15 yuan, and the student ticket is 7.5 yuan. If you buy a package ticket with Mount Hua, you can get a free ticket~
Recommended play time: 2-3 hours.
Opening hours: 8:00-18:00
Self-driving: Navigate to "Huashan Xiyue Temple", about 130 kilometers from Xi'an, it takes 1.5 hours.
High-speed rail: Xi'an North--Huashan North, you can arrive in 30 minutes!
