it’s really a good place for family travel in winter
beautiful nature scenery, worth a visit
There are few more memorable places than an Alpine village in the winter. Karwendel is a remarkable place. Truly a fairytale setting. We arrived from Innsbruck via Absam, which is itself a quaint little village. From there it wasn’t hard to travel up the short valley and into Karwendel park. The scenery is stunning, with crisp mountain air and snow-covered peaks. Our only minor regret was not being able to see the amount wildlife on display in spring and summer. Still this is a small complaint to what was, overall, a really beautiful place to visit.
Venturing into the Alps is a wonderful experience and Karwendel is a great place to go. Almost without reservation I can recommend traveling here. We came from Innsbruck via Abasm, which is itself a wonderful Alpine village. The snow covered trees and the crisp morning air were amazing! From there it is a short trek through the valley before you reach the stunning Karwendel mountains. Perhaps my only regret (and you can't really call it a regret) was that we didn't see the mountains in their spring and summer glory. There was still a feast for the eyes just being out on the trail. Wildlife was a little harder to spot given the time of year. For this reason it's probably better to take a guided tour with someone who's sure not to miss the chance sightings along the way. Alpine Austria is right out of a fairy tale, and Karwnedel lives up to this reputation.
