The Huazhi Memorial Bell Tower was built in 1909 in commemoration of the first British colonial administration of Jishu, located in the center of Baobao city. Bird was assassinated in 1875 while traveling on a salad tour of Brazil. During his tenure, the tower was built and named in memory of him. The frescoes of Buddha, Moses and Shakespeare are engraved on the bell tower, which represent the development of different civilizations, the fusion and tolerance of different cultures, and are worth seeing.

Birch Memorial Clock Tower was built in memory of the first British Resident of Perak - J.W.W. Birch. Nearby you can see Tudor designed Royal Ipoh Club, FMS Bar, HSBC Building and the magnificent St. Michael's Institution secondary school.
