There are many such mosques in Turkey, and this time I was quite impressed. The flow of people was particularly high.
A real gem - right below sulemanya mosque and next to eminonu
Rustem Pasha is one of neatest buildings in Istanbul. It differs from other Ottoman mosques in a few ways. First, it's tucked away on a side street near the Spice Bazaar. Second, it's not nearly as large as Sultanahmet or Yeni Camii. Third, the mosque is elevated. Once inside the tile and wood work are exquisite and the feeling of serenity is surprising given how busy the neighborhood is.
While the Blue Mosque overflows with tourists, I suggest stopping by the Rüstem Paşa Mosque, which serves up the same impressive blue-tiled walls, minus all the commotion. With a smaller complex and fewer visitors, you can actually sit down and appreciate the tranquil and spiritual setting.
Love this mosque so blue and pretty ❤️
This is a small mosque, tucked away, down a small street, up a hidden staircase, but worth the search. It is beautiful, not crowded and peaceful.
