Athabasca Falls

In order to catch up to Lake Marin the afternoon before, I missed the Athabasca Falls and detoured the next day. The light was not very good when I went in the morning, but the scenery was OK. There are not many tourists, it would be nice if the water was bigger.

The ice water washed these huge rocks year after year, day after day, after ten thousand years of "cut", and finally washed the boulder's riverbed out of the canyon up to 25 meters deep, highlighting the beauty of the power of the Asabaska Falls to go straight and rapids. The Asabasca Falls are less stunning than Niagara Falls, but its river is abundant and spectacular. In summer, picnics are possible, and the lower reaches of the waterfall are a paradise for many rafters.

I went in October, the water flow is still quite big, it is recommended to pass in the afternoon, I passed early in the morning, so the sun is backlit, the license is a bit dark, it is good to take pictures at different angles, the natural bridge is here.

In winter, the Asabaska Falls are thick snow, and the waterfalls have become beautiful ice hangings of various shapes. Only occasionally, a small area of the river has not frozen, but it is still a beautiful spot on the Icefield Avenue.

It's so beautiful, like in a fairyland

This waterfall is really shocking. Starting from Jasper to Lake Louis, take Icefield Avenue and pass through the waterfall. From a long distance, we heard the deafening sound of water. The scenic spots parked free of charge. There were few people. The waterfall scene was very big and spectacular. We also took a rainbow. It was worth visiting.

Atabasca falls, located on Icefield Avenue, at the junction of N93 and N93A, is formed by the Atabasca Ice River through a cliff. Although the height is only over 20 meters, the current is turbulent and shocking.
