Heyang Ancient Village (合阳古镇) - Jinyun

Getting There - Travel from Shanghai to Lishui city is possible by train and takes around 3-4 hours depending on what train you take. Train tickets vary in price but a 2nd class seat will cost approximately 170-220RMB. Heyang Ancient Village is 60km (40mile) drive from Lishui and takes around an hour. Arranging a private driver is relatively easy and can be done through most hotels. We hired a driver for the entire day which cost around 1000RMB, shared between 4 people, and was very comfortable and convenient. Heyang Ancient Village was one of several places visited Attractions: The village has a history of over 1000 years and has maintained its beautiful traditional architecture. Most of the buildings are around 200 years old and the village is very much a living relic. The highlight of Heyang is simply wondering around and getting lost in the quaint alleyways and courtyard houses. Food & Restaurants - They are several local spots where food is available. Lishui's least-known attraction! Heyang Ancient Residences

Heyang Ancient Residences, a millennium-old village hidden in Jinyun, Lishui, attracted me with its simple charm and long history. Here, I experienced the charm of the Wu-style architecture, admired the unique architectural style of the ancient residences, and tasted the local cuisine. II. Historical Introduction Heyang Ancient Residences are located in Xinjian Town, Jinyun County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, and were established during the Southern Song Dynasty, with a history of over 1000 years. The architecture here is mainly the white-wall and black-tile Wu-style, typical of the ancient residences in the Jiangnan water towns. III. Recommended Attractions 1. Ancient Residences: There are about 1500 remaining house buildings in Heyang Ancient Residences, each with the white-wall and black-tile Wu-style architecture. Being in the ancient residences feels like returning to an era hundreds of years ago, very simple and elegant. 2. Must-visit spots: Bashi Gate Xuzhu Ancestral Hall Horse Head Wall Heyang Ancient Street Following the Moon. 3. Food Recommendations: Jinyun baked cakes, Jinyun local noodles, the baked cake fillings with a mix of half-fat and half-lean pork paired with pickled vegetables are super delicious. IV. Ticket Information Tickets: After 17:30 in the evening, entering the scenic area is free of charge, or you can enter through the side paths. During the day, no tickets are required either, but some ancestral halls require a separate ticket for visiting. V. Transportation Guide Apart from self-driving, there are direct buses from all over the country to Lishui high-speed train station, or you can take a bus to Lishui station and transfer to Jinyun West station, then take a taxi for about 10km. Crowded at Xian Du? Try the nearby Heyang Ancient Residences!

I originally planned to visit the Xian Du scenic area, but unfortunately, there were too many tourists. I didn't want to spend the whole day in line, so I stumbled upon this ancient village. It is currently the largest in scale, oldest in history, and most culturally profound of its kind in the Jiangnan region. The ancient architectural complex, covering 0.4 square kilometers, allows visitors to appreciate the thoughtfulness of the scenic area. Even during holidays, it is not overcrowded, offering an excellent experience. The area is not only rich in historical and cultural atmosphere but also offers a variety of activities, such as paper-cutting, embroidery, calligraphy, Wuyi opera performances, and water screen movies. I feel that the 40 yuan ticket is well worth the price. - Heyang Ancient Residences attractions: ✔️Xu Zhu Ancestral Hall, Wen Han Ancestral Hall, Qi Ru Ancestral Hall, Zhu Da Ancestral Hall, Gui Er Ancestral Hall, He Gong Special Ancestral Hall: Inside the Heyang Ancient Residences, there are still ten major clan-style ancient residential buildings and fifteen ancient ancestral halls. Currently, six halls are open for visitors, which require a ticket for entry. I also happened to encounter a Wuyi opera performance at the Qi Ru Ancestral Hall, which was quite novel. ✔️Xun Gui Ying Yue: Suzhou-style garden, the quadruple circular corridors give a sense of roundness and layers. ✔️Horse Head Wall: 32 horse heads in various shapes, the ancient buildings and small bridges are very photogenic. ✔️Geng Zao Yi Feng: The scene of celebrating the Chinese New Year in a quadrangle courtyard was featured in the 2015 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. ✔️Ba Shi Men: Passing through the Ba Shi Men leads to the old street, with distinctive shops such as a barber shop, Hanfu shop, barrel shop, and traditional Chinese medicine hall. ✔️Gong Ji Bridge: A national key cultural relics protection unit, this majestic stone arch bridge is a must-visit. ✔️'Only This Heyang' Cultural and Creative Store: The products are very creative. 🎐 Lishui has a lesser-known ancient town, Heyang ancient residences, not many people know about it, so not many people visit it either~ 🎐 You might not encounter many tourists when you enter, but rather the elderly locals living there, giving off a very genuine atmosphere~ 🎐 Walking into such alleys, quiet and serene, it feels as if you've traveled through time, allowing your soul to settle and quietly feel; although it's not bustling, it has inherited a thousand years of cultural history~ 🎐 There are several notable sights in Heyang ancient residences: the round moon gate of 'Following Rules and Stamping the Moon', the horse head wall clusters, the Eight Scholars Gate... all worth a visit~ 🎐 Heyang ancient residences are almost zero commercial, it has a sense of isolation from the world, very suitable for taking photos with a sense of nostalgia, if you come to Lishui, you might want to take a look~

If you can't make it to the great Northwest, then come to this unhidden Yandang Book House
