Xiamen Puguang Temple

Puguang Temple is located on the hillside of Hongshanshan, Xilin, Lianqian Avenue, Siming District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It was called Jinji Pavilion in ancient times. Now there is an avenue in the gap between the hillside, leading to the airport and the International Convention and Exhibition Center. The temple is next to Wolong Mountain. In the early Ming Dynasty, there was a rain pavilion beside the ancient country road. There is a natural strange rock on the side of the road, which looks like a golden rooster. When pedestrians stop here, they can hear the sound of roosters crowing in the villages in the suburbs at dawn. One after another, it is thought-provoking and emotional, so there is a saying of "Golden Rooster sings at dawn". It is listed as one of the "Eight Sceneries of Xiamen". Later, monks worshiped Guanyin in the pavilion, so it is also called "Guanyin Pavilion".
