About Ju County: Ju County is located in the south of Shandong Province and is administered by Ruzhao City. The local Ju culture is widely recognized as one of the three major cultures in Shandong, together with Qi culture and Lu culture. Dinglin Temple, which sits on Fulai Mountain, was once home to Liu Xie, the literary criticism theorist and author of The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons from China’s Northern and Southern dynasties period. Within the temple, Liu Xie’s school building and the “first ginkgo tree in the world,” believed to be almost 4000 years old, can be admired.
