I think personally this was a great part of my trip to Hawaii, but if you do not like sand obviously do not come to a beach!
You really don't have to take the hike to the other beach!
Many of the reviewers here are actually reviewing Makalawena Beach, which is a 2 mile hike from this beach. I know Makalawena gets all the accolades in the ratings, but Mahai'ula beach is nice too - ...
Seal beach
My daughters review: ‘I liked it because there was a huge seal and a big green turtle on the shoreline and nature it calms me down’ Beautiful unspoiled beach, road here is treacherous.
Worth it but you better know how to drive!
No joke the road is difficult without a 4 wheel drive but we made it in a Chevy Impala because my hubs has mad skills! So worth it. And there are wild goats that come to the beach to feed at sunset
