Very idyllic place. The most beautiful time here is the late summer and early autumn every year, and it is early in Hokkaido. It started here very early, and the temperature difference was huge and dew came out. The beautiful scenery lasts until the end of September.
Sounkyo is at the foothills of Daisetsuzan on the ridge of Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido. It was the first time I saw this address in a reasonable way. I thought it was Kamikawa-cho’s ridge-the foot of Daisetsuzan. Later I found out that the snow-capped mountain was called Yaji Daisetsuzan...and It does not refer to the highest peak in the physical sense. . . The name is good! The mountain here is mainly composed of tuff structure of clasts after volcanic eruption, which is corroded by spring water and snow water to form steep canyons. There are also many waterfalls. The entire scenic area is well-developed, complete with hotels, hot springs, and cable cars, which is a good place to go.
