What people are saying:

The folk village is very charming and unique. Whether it is spring, summer, autumn, winter or day and night, it is like a fairy tale. I think autumn leaves are really beautiful. I especially like the feeling of depression in autumn. Dead trees always make me I feel that everything is calm and life can be that simple.

    Right out of Edo

Unlike the single old buildings I've seen in other towns, this is an entire village: 12 buildings to enter, ranging from farmers' homes to community gathering places. The map and guides are good for ...

    Lovely open air museum

This is a nice place to visit, with a variety of old buildings from Japan. There were not a lot of visitors -which we liked- so that we could quietly explore the museum. We didn't have to pay an entry...

Good to see. Catch the museum

Currently no charge to get in. Worth stopping by, particularly the main museum. Amazing Samurai swords, and other interesting items.

Across from Tenshochi Park - definitely worth a visit

Open air museums provide an easy way to learn about an area in different historical periods from their buildings. Michinoku Village did not disappoint. The restored buildings moved here from thro...

    Interesting Attraction

This attraction is definitely worth visiting after the long walk from the bridge through the 2 rows of sakuras. Most of the signs and descriptions are in japanese with little english used. I was lucky...
