Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden
Amazing view from our Cable car ride to visit Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden.
We went up the through the cable car to see the evening view of the city and went back down to see the night view of Kobe.
If you get in after 5pm, you won’t be able to enter the herb garden but you will still be able to enjoy the amazing view of the city from atop. Up in the hill there will be some shop and restaurants.
Definitely worth to visit if you’re on a day trip to Kobe - Japan.

A Garden with Free foot spa
The garden is located on the top of the mountain that you have to ride on to the cable car. When you reach the top, you will see a few food stalls, a restaurant, a cafe, gift shops, a perfume museum, and some workshops. There is a path you can walk down, and you’ll see a lot of plants, flowers, and different types of herbs. They have a resting area full of swing beds, and it was so comfortable. The most exciting part is the free foot spa, which is actually an onsen. The heated spring water comes from this mountain, which is very famous in Kobe. That time I went there, it was in the winter, so it was perfect for me to try that onsen, you will have to pay 100 yen for the clean towel. While you are in the onsen, you can relax, enjoy the amazing view, and take a deep breath. The people recommend not soaking yourself for too long, about 10–15 minutes. I love this place so much that I went there twice, so I do recommend it to you guys and I hope you will enjoy. If you’ve been there before comment down below and tell us your experience too.

Beautiful scenery with Relaxation Foot Spa
This is one of Kobe’s famous attraction. If you’re a herb lovers or flower lovers or nature lovers, you must visit this place! This place you don’t need to hike uphill because you can use the cable car (charged fee around 1800 yen) 🚡 and they have a foot spa (足湯/onsen) that was free of charge the only thing that you will need is to bring your own towel, if you don’t have one then you will have to pay 100 yen for one small towel (No staff to collect the fee so please be self-disciplined) you have to just place your payment next to the towel basket 🧺 and then you may enjoy you spa with a beautiful view or watch the sunset, it was very satisfied and memorable. In the herb garden, they have a fragrance museum (open daily w/o tours) with few workshop (only opened occasionally). I do recommend you to come in spring, summer and autumn because there’s lots of flower blooming in the seasons

Check out this place and see Kobe, Osaka
As someone who like views from high up and the top, decided to visit Mt Rokko Tenran Observatory.
You will take the traditional scenic ropeway up for around $10 two ways and get to enjoy views of both Kobe and Osaka (famous spots like USJ).
This is a good way to spend time at Kobe in between the Kobe beef meals.
There are also souvenir shops and cafes here, recommended time to spend -3 hours
Marvellous Moriya
Inside an unassuming building on the streets surrounding the Kobe Sannomiya Station is a marvellous teppanyaki called Moriya. It’s been around since 1884, and the walls inside are lined with all the awards it’s gained over the years. While there are numerous teppanyaki shops in Kobe, this one stands out as offering great value for the quality of food it serves. The staff are very friendly and can communicate in simple English.

Exploring Kobe
Kobe is very beautiful city and famous due to the Kobe tower, Kobe beef and huge earthquake in 1995. But Kobe now is very modern city. The cover photo is Higashimon street which is famous for its Restourant, clubs and nightlife. Ikuta road is another area with famous Kobe beef restaurant and shopping. You can alight at Sanomiya station and walk around these famous roads.
Kobe is also famous for the bakery, sweet and desert which are highly influenced by French style bakery. Several nice sweet can be found in Toothtooth Bakery at Sanomiya. Kobe also has very nice Chinatown with cute ornaments.

🈶️Japan accommodation suggestions🈶️
In general, it is recommended to choose high-end hotels in scenic areas. These hotels usually have excellent locations and quality, provide two meals a night, high-quality catering, and some even provide transportation services (need to be booked in advance). In fact, considering comprehensively, the price is not much higher than staying in a homestay, but the experience is more enjoyable. For large cities such as Tokyo and Sapporo, due to their important status as transportation hubs, the first choice is hotels with convenient transportation.
Take the tram and bus! A beautiful trip to Kobe, Japan alone
This is one of the series of magnificent sceneries I saw in Japan, by taking the train and bus. The destination of this month is... Kobe, which is full of tourist attractions! All photos are only taken by public transportation! You can tour without driving 🚃
From next month, I will focus on Luminarie held in January, as well as the famous Onsen (hot spring), and Mountain known for its art, and popular Starbucks branches, etc., this is the route I actually spent 2 days and 1 night walking.
My favorite memory is overlooking the Luminarie from the business hotel where I happened to stay, it was really great...✨

Kobe Port Tower Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Multicultural Seaside City
Kobe is a relaxing city that has different feel to it. It reminds you somewhat of being overseas and not in Japan, albeit with all the benefits of Japan! You'll find relaxing seaside promenades, a Chinatown and insightful architecture.
Kobe is a port city and warmly embraces its past by preserving several remnants of its past bustle. Starting from the seaside promenade, you'll find relaxing walks along the sea. Here you'll also find the iconic Kobe Port Tower, which stands out on the waterfront. You'll also find a reminder of the Great Hanshin earthquake which wrecked havoc in the city; there's a section of the area of how the waterfront was moved by this phenomenon.
Moving inwards you'll find Kobe Chinatown, which is a celebration of the Chinese who first settled the area. Nowadays, you'll find Chinese themed buildings and also streets lined with Sino-Japanese fusion foods. A definite must visit!
Finally, at Kitano-ko, there is a collection of foreign styled residences. You'll really feel yourself outside of Japan, but it's still nonetheless a great place to wander around.
Overall, Kobe is a great city to explore. Being right next to the sea allows countless waterfront walks. Kobe is/was a very international city and has preserved this cultural aspect.

Kobe tower port
#thingstodo The most gorgeous views I ever seen from the towers. The front view is a port of Kobe with the ocean, boats and islands. Back view is mountains full of greens and houses, and all together have perfect view down the Kobe city buildings. Believe me Kobe is beautiful than Osaka view.
Also in the last floor you'll buy suveniers and surprise balls.

Kobe Ōji Zoo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kobe Oji Zoo is a zoo near residential area which are easily reached by Hankyu Line train and get off in Oji Station. We were in Kobe mid week and decided to head to the zoo to see Tan Tan the panda. There was no waiting to get in or to see the exhibits, there were a lot of school children on an excursion but other than that it was just about ours. Yes it’s a little dated but who cares the animals are there to see. I loved that with some animals there was a chance to see where they slept incase they weren’t out. It was an enjoyable day and if your visiting Kobe and looking for something to do this could be something.

In the amusement park, several mountings are counted by another tickets, cost 1000 yen for 10 tickets. Unfortunately some of the exotic animals are unavailable due to age, renovation, or already passed away.

Located about 3km away from Sannomiya. You can take the Kobe City-line bus number 92 from Sannomiya and get off right in front of the Zoo. Entrance ticket for adults costs only 600 Yen and children below 4 years can enter for free. They have a good variety of animals and don't miss out to see the giant panda! It is said that this is the only zoo where you can see both Giant Panda Bears and Koalas in Japan. In addition to the animals, they have an amusement park inside the Zoo where you can enjoy with your young children.
I want to go back here again.
