What travelers say:
This is my first time writing a review for TripAdvisor. If you are considering to experiencing a unique Kyoto style sushi, this is the place to go. Reading the other reviews, I feel like they don't understand Japanese food/taste. The sushi here is made perfectly, and I've been eating the Sabazushi (Mackerel sushi) for over 5 years, and I've never had a bad experience with it. I recently went back and tried something different; this time the chirashizushi (Scattered sushi?) and it was one of the best I've ever had. Its rather simple than others I've tried, but the flavour packed into it was just mind blowing. Like others have said, yes this place's service can be non existent, no music but what they do have is great food presented beautifully. Also they gave us our own pot of tea so we didn't really need any more service. And why would you expect background music in a traditional Japanese restaurant? If you decide not to go here because of the negative comments on this restaurant, you'll be missing a otherwise great experience. Also as others mentioned do check out the toilet. You won't be disappointed.
