Old timber palace gate
Hamaguri Gomon Gate was an old timber gate leading to the Imperial Palace of Kyoto. Worth to see the simple decoration thereat prior to entering the palace.
One of Many Entrance Gates But Not The Most Impresive

It is one of the nine gates in Kyoto Gyoen. It seems that it is the origin of the very common feeling that the gate that rarely opened at the time of the fire of the palace opened only at this time, so it was compared to clams that it was opened by the fire. There is also the Hama Mikado incident, and I think it is highly known among the first gates.

Not a special gate
