Ryogen-in Temple

I visited in late February. It is said to be the oldest of the Dade Temple, built in the early 16th century with many towers. The Beitiao, Tangmen and Datongmen are important cultural properties from the beginning. There are several gardens, which are said to be the smallest rockery garden in Japan in the " Totsutsutsubo". In front of Beitiao, there is a large moss turtle island in the middle of the rockery garden. In addition, the fusuma pictures in each room are also great.

Located in the Dade Temple complex in Kyoto, it was built in the Southern Song Dynasty of China and is the oldest courtyard Buddhist temple in Japan. It is well-known for its unique courtyard style "withered mountains and rivers". Flowers and trees, trees and houses, houses and grass complement each other in the garden. It reflects the delicacy and meticulousness of courtyards in the south of the Yangtze River everywhere.

Longyuan Temple is the main monastery of the Southern Sect of Dade Temple. It was built by Dongxi Sect in 1502. It still retains the abbot's chamber, the porch and the main entrance. Among them, the abbot's chamber presents the typical pattern of Zen Buddhism.

Longyuan Temple is one of the sub-monasteries of Dade Temple. It is the main monastery of the Southern School of Dade Temple. The small courtyard with dry landscape style has few visitors.
