Niangniang Mountain is the main peak in the Niangniang Mountain Scenic Spot located in Daxue Village, behind Xiaoliangjia Village, Gaogezhuang Town, Laiyang City, Shandong Province. Because the mountain is home to a temple to Tianhou Niangniang (also called Mazu, Empress of Heaven), from ancient times the Mountain was called Niangniang Mountain. Niangniang Mountain is mainly comprised of glutenite, sandstone and shale rocks. To the south is Yingzi Mountain (Eagle Mountain) and to the north there are a total of seven slightly shorter peaks, including the so-called "Ancient Sword" peak as well as Gushan (Lonely Mountain). These seven smaller peaks are referred to as the "Seven Sons of the Mountain", altogether forming one of the eight great scenic attractions of the Laiying region.
