Lingyin Temple is located at the scenic heart of the Stagecoach Mountain National Forest Park and to the northeast of the mountain's main peak. The whole temple faces south and features a formal entrance, a Hall of the Four Heavenly Kings, Great Buddha's Hall, the Statues of the Three Sages, Scripture Hall and so forth in succession. Two large Bell and Drum Towers stand by each entrance with a Bodhisattva Guanyin, Hall of Five Hundred Arhats and Tomb Towers also located to the east inside the monastery. Its western side features a zhai courtyard, living quarters, the Sheli Pagoda and the Biqiu Pagoda. The Lingyin Temple is the site of a huge, annual Buddhist convention. The event includes the offering of food to ancestral spirits according to Buddhist practice and prayers for society, social harmony and world peace.
