I see trees of green ♪
Beautiful alpine village nestled in the mountains with an amazing view of the Jungfrau valley and Lauterbrunnen down below. Taking the train up to Wengen will guarantee you a lovely view of Lauterbrunnen.
The village has shops, attractions and amenities within walking distance. Though, if you do decide to get a resort/hotel further up, be sure to ask for shuttle cars, the upwards slopes are no joke.
Our hotel had a lovely view of the cable car rides up to Männlichen, the street below and at night- if you’re willing to stand in the 14 degrees cold (even in summer) you can get a good picture of the night sky!
Of course, we couldn’t stay in Wengen without visiting Männlichen and her famous Royal Walk- a short hike of 1.7km, with elevations up to 80-120m up/down, grants you a truly breathtaking panoramic view. ((the gravel paths can be a bit slippery so be careful on the way down))
The trail from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg was an overall downhill walk with a view of Grindelwald down below and the snow capped mountains. But before you embark on this trail be sure to either get something to eat or drink (and the WC of course) at Männlichen as it is quite a long walk (about 4.7km). Near the midpoint you can see Eiger! A truly memorable walk with amazing scenery of the town below and mountains all around us.
Truly a scenic paradise with plenty of activities to do, whether you prefer to simply enjoy the views or try out some of their more thrilling activities. It was my first time visiting Switzerland but certainly won’t be the last!#switzerland #summervacation #nature #alps

Jungfrau | Top of Europe !!!! 🇨🇭
How to get there: There are 2 ways to go up Jungfrau: 1) By the Cable Car (Eiger Express) or 2) By train. We went up by the eiger express (from Grindelswald, interchanging at Terminal), and we came down by train.
Before we went up, we contemplated of joining a tour but given we have done a fair share of research, I ended up going by ourselves.
There are several viewing sites, which ofc include Jungfrau itself, ice palace, exhibition of history of the site construction of Jungfrau, and Lindlt chocolate museum.
It was negative 18 degree celsius on Jungfrau!!! So for those who cannot handle the cold, don’t visit during the winter 😂😂😂
Despite the weather condition was not ideal (no blue sky😣) but i guess it is as expected because we went during the winter ❄️)
Pro tip: I would recommend purchasing the swiss pass as you get discount for the jungfrau ticket and free transport within Switzerland!!

Grindelwald: A crime if you miss it!
Get here by train! We came via Basel and just enjoyed the scenic views from the huge train windows. Lake, villages, mountains, you won’t want to close your eyes!
Coming here in early autumn, we escaped the crowds and could explore First, Eiger, and Jungfraujoch with ease and little wait time. The mountains are magnificent all thru the year! The colours of the landscape will change and hiking to the Balchapsee is an experience in itself. Discovering WCs in the middle of nowhere, up
in the mountains, complete with toilet tissue is something only the Swiss can guarantee!
There are many hotels in this little village and all are within walking distance of the train station. We stayed at the Eiger Aparthotel as we wanted to prepare our own meals to save cost. Bookings come with daily afternoon tea and the variety of cakes, teas and coffees were an absolute treat!
There are many cafes around for fondue and all sorts of local delights. We opted to explore the two supermarkets for raw ingredients and cooked up our own dinners at a fraction of the cost of eating out. Do check out the different yogurt flavours, types of cheese, and cured meats too!
As it is a tourist destination, you can get souvenirs and major brands here. There is a post office (to send postcards) and some banks if you need forex.
My #2023travelwish is to drop by this beautiful place again in the SUMMER and take in the wonders of creation ❤️

Interlaken, charming village in Switzerland!
#2023travelwish
My most unforgettable vacation destination was Interlaken; a charming village beneath of Jungfrau, Switzerland. Surrounded by mountains and nature beauty, sits between the emerald-coloured waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, it has old timber houses and parkland on either side of the Aare River, truly a beatiful and picturesque holiday destination.
Interlaken is also a hotspot for paragliding, hiking and sightseers alike, and the gateway to exploring the Jungfrau region.
My 2023 dream destination would be Kyoto, Japan for stunning Autumn leaves.🍁

MURREN - The most beautiful village in Swiss!
Murren is a car free alpine village in Switzerland - the only way to access Murren village is by cable car and train.
The village lies at about 1650m above sea level, which offering amazing panoramic view.
We visited the village during winter season and apparently it is the season where Murren becomes busy with tourists and/or ski lovers.
During your visit to Murren, you can also pay a visit to the Mt Schilthorn by cable car if you are a fan of 007 James Bond.

Breathtaking Scenic Town Of Lauterbrunnen
One town that you have to visit is the town of Lauterbrunnen simply because if you are looking for views and beauty that take your breath away, it's definitely this town!
Lauterbrunnen is located in a valley where there js the Lauterbrunnen waterfall about 300m high and you can hear the loud roar of the waterfall from a distance away. For an outdoor and hiking enthusiasts 1 day in this town isn't enough due to the many activities situated all around Lauterbrunnen, simply because there is the staubbach falls hike, the murren hike and the trummelbach hike. But I definitely do recommend the Staubbach falls hike because this hike takes you to the top of the falls and the view from above is definitely scenic and will take your breath away fir sure.

My top 3 favourite towns in Swiss🥹🥹
📍Grindelwald: The Eiger's Guardian
Grindelwald is a picture-perfect Alpine village, nestled at the foot of the imposing Eiger North Face. The views here are nothing short of breathtaking, with the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks providing a dramatic backdrop. A must-visit is the First Flyer; this zip line offers an adrenaline rush like no other, paired with panoramic views of the Alps. 🏔️
📍Lauterbrunnen: The Valley of Waterfalls
Lauterbrunnen, set in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, is surrounded by rock faces and peaks. This town is famous for its 72 waterfalls, with the Staubbach Falls being one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe. A walk through the valley floor provides an almost surreal experience, as the sound of water and the sight of lush greenery and quaint chalets fill the senses. 💕💕
📍Interlaken: The Heart of the Alps
Interlaken, aptly named for its location between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, is more than just a gateway to the surrounding mountains. It’s a vibrant town that offers a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. With its central location, Interlaken is the perfect base for exploring both Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, as well as other jewels in the Bernese Oberland. 💎
🇨🇭🇨🇭Where to Stay?
Choosing Interlaken as your base offers the best of both worlds. Its central location means you’re never far from the natural wonders of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, allowing for easy day trips to explore these iconic Swiss towns. Personally I go for apartment option as I prefer cooking meals by myself🥰🥰 but there’s lots of accommodation in Interlaken that u can explore!

Switzerland | A valley town listed as a world natural heritage site.
Science time:
Lauterbrunnen is a small town in the Interlaken-Oberhasli district of the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It is located to the west of the Jungfrau region and has as many as 72 waterfalls pouring down from the valley cliffs. Therefore, the German translation of Lauterbrunnen is actually "loud spring" (Laut-Brunnen). This town is truly a waterfall town, but I prefer to call it a "fairytale town". The town is hidden in a valley, and at the end of the valley are layers of snow-capped mountains, including the famous Jungfrau. There is a popular hiking trail here, which is said to lead all the way to the back of the waterfall, similar to a water curtain cave.
If time allows, it is strongly recommended to stay here for two days, one day for climbing Shao Nv Peak and one day for visiting Waterfall Town.
Among them, Staubbach Falls is the iconic landscape of the town. The magical land in the movie "The Lord of the Rings", Rivendell, was created based on this small town, with mountains, waterfalls, villages, and snow-capped mountains.

When it comes to quintessential alpine villages in Switzerland, Lauterbrunnen really hits the mark. Dotted with chalet-style houses and surrounded by green fields and towering, snow-capped mountains, there is surely no village in Switzerland that is more picturesque.
You can hike from Lauterbrunnen to the cable car station.
If you are adventurous enough, take up paragliding here and the view is definitely breathtaking. It's so worth the effort of hiking up to the take-off point and experiencing this as part of your bucket list.

Autumn Magic in Lauterbrunnen's Embrace
#fallishere
Nestled in the Bernese Alps, Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, is a picturesque valley renowned for its 72 waterfalls and stunning landscapes. Its name, translating to "many fountains," aptly describes the natural beauty that envelops this charming destination.
One autumn morning, a friend and I found ourselves enchanted by Lauterbrunnen's tranquility. Eager to explore beyond the tourist spots, a friendly local offered to guide us through hidden paths and meadows. As we strolled beneath golden canopies of beech trees, the crisp air filled with the symphony of rustling leaves and distant waterfalls. The local storyteller shared tales of the valley's rich history, from ancient legends to tales of alpine traditions.

A great experience at Mt. Schilthorn
Are you a fan of 007 James Bond? Then Mt. Schilthorn is a must!! The building on Mt Schilthorn is called Piz Gloria and it is the primary filming location for the movie of James Bond! There is also a mini museum/exhibition about 007 James Bond within the Mt Schilthorn.
We visited Mt Schilthron during the winter and we got to enjoy the panoramic winter view. At Mt. Schilthron, you would be able to enjoy amazing views of the alps, namely Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.
Overall, we had a great time at Mt Schilthorn. 💯
🇨🇭 360° Viewing Platform @ Schilthorn
#hiddengems
After a long 2.5-hour journey to the Schilthorn summit from Interlaken train station, we were greeted by spectacular alpine scenery straight out of postcards. At the summit, Piz Gloria stands 2,970 metres above sea level surrounded by more than 200 alpine peaks. Walk out of the building to Skyline View platform, which is an outdoor observation deck that provides a 360-degree view of the Swiss Alps. It's an excellent vantage point for taking in the stunning landscapes of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. On clear days, you can even see as far as the Black Forest in Germany or the Mont Blanc massif in France!
