Colosseum and cafe with history
The Colosseum, the greatest amphitheater of the Roman Empire and still the landmark of Rome. We visited in October where the sun set quite early. We arrived just before sunset and hence could only manage to walk from the outskirts. Next time we would join a guided tour.
There are several sightseeing points around the Colosseum and it was a great walk around Rome where we ended in the Sciasia Caffe 1919 after an hour or so, a few streets from the Vatican.
Sciasia Caffe 1919
Address: Via Fabio Massimo, n.80/a, 00192 Roma

Magnificent Colosseum
Located just east of the Roman Forum, the massive stone amphitheater known as the Colosseum was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people. In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum—officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater—with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
After four centuries of active use, the magnificent arena fell into neglect, and up until the 18th century it was used as a source of building materials. Though two-thirds of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time, the amphitheater remains a popular tourist destination, as well as an iconic symbol of Rome and its long, tumultuous history.

The beautiful Trevi Fountain ⛲️
#rometrip
Getting There - The Trevi Fountain is fountain in the Trevi district of Rome designed by an Italian architect back in the 17th - 18th century. It was designed by Nicola Salvi but different architects completed it. Getting to it is easy, you simply have to go to the Quirinale district in Rome, very close to the main station of Roma Termini.
Attractions - I can say that you cannot complete or saying to have made your trip to Rome without visiting this baroque masterpiece. There are many attractions near by such as Carrabba Marble.
Hotels - Hotel Fontana named by the fountain is cheap option however, if you are looking for more luxury experience you may want to option for Umiltà 36 or Singer Palace.
Food & Restaurants - Breakfast at hotel Fontana is really cool, for 15 euro you can really get a good breakfast while watching the fountain. Piccolo buco is well know for pizza near the fountain and trattoria Al Moro for local food.
Shopping - Trevi Galleria, La Rinascente and many botteghino. Botteghino sells cool items! if you are up for some high end brands, I would suggest you to go to Via del Corso in Rome.
Have a fun!

the Magic and Reality of the Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain. 💙 This was my first time visiting and I was in awe! What a beautiful absolutely magical place! Located in Rome, Italy, it is one of the most famous and iconic fountains in the world. ⛲️
It is featured in many movies and photos, and is often depicted as a serene (exhibit A - the photo which I have shared with you) and romantic spot where visitors can throw coins into the fountain.
The reality of visiting the Trevi Fountain is a little different. Friends had told me it’s SOOO busy. While I thought I was prepared, I could never have imagined just how BUSY it gets. The crowds there were more than I expected. But, then again I can totally understand why.
What to expect: The fountain may be crowded with tourists, busy and noisy, difficult to get a photo with a clear view of the Trevi and can have quite a bit of litter around.
Managing expectations: be prepared for the crowds and hustle and bustle that come with this magical location. The Trevi Fountain remains a must-see place! 🤩🫶🏼The beauty and history of the fountain make it worth the visit. If you want to see it when it’s a little less crowded, try to visit early in the morning or later in the evening when there may be less people around.
Photo tip: work those angles. There were at least another 50 people if not more around when I was taking this photo!

Getting There - there are many ways to get to trevi fountain, I got there via e-scooter, you can hire these in the uber app when you’re traveling to Italy
Attractions - it is said that if you throw a coin into the fountain with your dominant hand over your opposite shoulder, your wishes will come true.
Hotels - I did not stay within walking distance to the trevi, but there are many nearby
Food & Restaurants - I would recommend to avoid the tourist trap and walk slightly further from the fountain for a more authentic Rome gastro experience. suppli is a must try when you’re in Rome, it’s only served in Rome and anywhere else isn’t the same.

An inside look of the Pantheon
#rometrip
Pantheon is located in Roma center in Piazza della Rotonda near Trevi fountain. Pantheon is a Roman temple built to all gods. It is really a particular building that explains a lot of history and interesting things to learn especially if you like to understand more about ancientness.
The cost of the ticket is around 5 euro, but if you buy the guided tour it will cost around 25 euro. They also sell many packages, which will include the Pantheon 🏛️, Trevi Fountain ⛲️, and Spanish steps for about $30 dollars which is around 25 euro, so it is kinda convenient. However, if you like me you can kind explore many monuments for free as along as you have everything mapped down.

The Pantheon is one of Rome's most iconic landmarks, and it has received countless positive reviews from tourists and travelers over the years. This ancient Roman temple, now a church, is renowned for its architectural brilliance and historical significance.
Visitors often marvel at the Pantheon's impressive dome, which was a remarkable engineering feat for its time and remains the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world.

Roman Forum, ancient government centre
#visitrome
It is impressive to see the structure that still has their fragments and shapes available after more than 2000 years has passed. It is the ruins of where government buildings once built around 8th century BC before they were abandoned during the Dark Ages. It also houses several temples of worship such as the Temple of Vesta. The structure of the Arch which serves as the replica for many countries, called the Arch of Titus, is still standing upright in the Forum. The surviving structures are a few such as Temple of Saturn, Temple of Vespasian, Forum Main Square, Bascilica Aemelia etc. Major excavation works are still in progress to unearth more relics and structures underground.
Unearthing Rome's Ancient Secrets
Rome, the eternal city, is a treasure trove of archaeological wonders that offer a glimpse into its rich and storied past. The archaeological sites hold centuries of history within their ancient ruins. Visit the Circus Maximus, an ancient chariot racing stadium, and imagine the roar of the crowd as the chariots thundered by. Travel back to 2000 years ago
Roman Forum is a vast excavated area which you will surely encounter on your way to the Colosseum. This is the site of the temples, squares and government back in those Roman times, dating back to more than 2000 years. It was the centre of the day-to-day life of Romans.
You can certainly peek from outside while walking past. However, if you wish to visit, then it is advisable to purchase tickets online and note that there are 2 entrances. To best enjoy the visit, I would highly recommend you to first watch videos about the Roman life or to do some graphic reading. It would then enhance your imagination during your visit and enable you to picture how did they live back in those days.

Piazza di Spagna in Rome, Italy 🇮🇹
The eloquent and luxurious Piazza di Spagna otherwise known as the Spanish Steps in English, are located in the luxury shopping area of Rome.
There is a great park nearby and many people frequent the Piazza di Spagna in order to have a walk and a cup of coffee. Sometimes you may see flowers on the steps in fresh bloom depending on the time of the year.
The Piazza di Spagna are also rather close to many consulates offices so the location is also of convenience.
From the top of the Piazza di Spagna, one can see so much of Rome and be able to really feel the beauty of the Eternal City.
Please take a visit to the Piazza di Spagna and go to the top, you surely won’t regret it.
