We selected the Chef&rsquo;s Surprise menu which included nine courses of gastronomic excellence and five wine pairings. This 2 star Michelin restaurant  rises to its name&hellip; La Villa Archange - The Villa of the Archangel.

My sister and I drove from  Cap Martin to Vallauris only to find all the museums closed. Instead of going back disappointed, we turned to The Guide Michelin and found Le Bistrot des Anges in nearby Le Cannet. We knew our luck had changed from the moment we stepped inside the nicely appointed dining room and saw the lovely art. Although we were a little early we were warmly greeted by the staff and seated at a lovely table. Our waiter explained the menu, offered the special items and helped us with our selections. After seeing our choices we agreed we wished we had extra stomachs so we could try everything. We looked round with envy at the locals who quickly filled the restaurant thinking how lucky they were to have such a jewel in their midst. Our choices were creative, delicious and not overly fussy. Chef Oger knows how to marry flavors yet let each ingredient shine. He also knows how to present a dish so its beauty enhances your anticipation of its taste. We found our lunch to be a value for the pleasure we received.

Villa Ancharge&#39;s ambiance effortlessly marries modern elegance with classic charm, creating an inviting setting for a memorable meal. But the real star of the show is the food, each dish a carefully composed work of art designed to ignite the senses.

Outstanding experience. The food was simply fascinating, delicious, and really tested our taste buds. The fact that owner/chef Bruno stopped by the table and said hi, and then again when we departed, was top class. The servers were perfect, and it was a world class experience. If I had to balance the review, I would comment that the dining room was extremely quiet (no music) and the tables were a touch close together, but this is not a criticism just a personal opinion. In summary, this restaurant is definitely worth a detour.

Hands down the best restaurant meal I have ever eaten.  Mind you, I rarely get the opportunity to dine in a Michelin starred restaurant and have only been to half a dozen.  Everything about the experience was superb. Minor quibble- the steep walk uphill and down on the driveway from the restaurant was difficult for my wife, who had on leather sole flats which slipped.  She would have fallen if I had not been holding her hand. Upon arrival at the Villa, from the moment we were greeted by the Maitre d&rsquo;Hotel we were comfortably. There were only 11 tables on the terrace, well spaced and a wait staff of 5. They were very attentive but not intrusive.  The patron stopped at our table to welcome us and then before being offered a menu, we received complimentary hors d&rsquo;oeuvres which set the tone for the rest of the evening. The presentation, texture and flavors of this painstakingly prepared small morsels were superb.  We chose the 9 course &ldquo;surprise&rdquo; menu, each course perfectly prepared and plated and with bursting flavors.  The only food disappointments were the voilaille (chicken) course which seemed undercooked.  Definitely not in the same league as the other 8 courses.  Our favorites were the langoustine and bar (Mediterranean sea bass) courses.  All of the courses were imaginative with delicate flavors and textures.  We cannot comment on wine pairings since we don&rsquo;t drink.  The end to a perfect evening- mint tea and a gift box from le patron.  This is the type of meal I can only dream about all year until we return to the C&ocirc;te d&rsquo;Azur. One you have appreciated a meal such as this, everything else pales in comparison. My wife and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary and chose Villa Archange for our celebration venue. Everything about this place was amazing the location, the decor, the stunning art (by Chef Oger&#39;s wife), the staff, and of course, the food and wine!We opted for the 5-course colinary discovery journey with wine pairing, and the sequence of flavors and beautiful presentations that followed was nothing short of amazing. Some of the dishes took us out of our comfort zone, but we were happy to explore and they did not disappoint. The abalone the seabass were our top two courses!We also got to meet Chef Bruno Oger, and what a charming, humble and welcoming person he is. We highly recommend this experience!
