Liuhua Lake Park is located at No. 100 Liuhua Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, covering an area of 54.43 10,000 square meters, of which the lake water area accounts for 60％ and greening accounts for 88％. The current site of Liuhua Lake Park is rumored to be Zhilan Lake in Jin Dynasty, and later became a vegetable field. In 1958, the municipal government organized the compulsory labor of the people of the city to guide the water in the street, built four artificial lakes such as Liuhua Lake, and then opened them as a park. In addition to the original water storage and flood control function, it is a large comprehensive park integrating the functions of sightseeing, entertainment and rest. It was officially opened to the public in October 1959 and opened for free from July 2009. Liuhua Lake Park has subtropical scenery, mostly palm plants, scorpion plants, flowering shrubs and open lawns. The park is divided into three open areas such as the sightseeing lounge area, entertainment area and flower and bird bonsai viewing area. The main attractions are Liuhua Xiyuan, Frankfurt Garden, Liao Island and Huaiyin Playground. Liuhua Xiyuan is the birthplace of Lingnan bonsai, known as the "Lingnan bonsai home", the bonsai works cultivated have been given to the Ethiopian emperor, the British queen and other heads of state and government, and have won awards for participating in domestic and foreign bonsai exhibitions.
