Yellow River Old Embankment

The Yellow River first flowed through Shangqiu in the second year of Song Shaoxing and the tenth year of Jin Taizong Tianhui (1132). In the fifth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1855), he moved northward and flowed through Shangqiu for a total of 723 years. Now, the magnificent old route of the Yellow River is left here. The old embankment of the Yellow River, known as the "Great Wall on Water", was built in the 25th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1546 AD). With a history of more than a few years, it is also the most well-preserved embankment of the old Yellow River in the country. On the embankment there are rows of fruit trees and green trees. There are 6 bamboo-shaped reservoirs in the old road, forming 6 lakes. Liukou Lake has an existing water surface of 12,000 mu, a length of about 5,000 meters, an average width of about 1,200 meters, and an average water depth of 1.8 meters. According to historical records, the lake has never dried up or been polluted. The lake is rippling with clear water, sparkling, the lake is crystal clear, endless, and the water and grass are abundant. In addition, there are also Linqi Lake, Wutun Lake, Renzhuang Lake, Zhangge Lake and Zhengge Lake in the old road, which is a good place for eco-tourism.
