Lovely old-style restaurant and bar located next to Van Nuys airfield. Indoor and outdoor seating and nice large windows to look outside when it&#39;s cold. Wonderful friendly and attentive service. Menu has a choice of seafood and meat dishes, all prepared expertly by a very good chef. Great experience and much enjoyed by all.

94th Aero Squadron

We ate lunch here while staying at the Holiday Inn across the street. It was within walking distance from the hotel, and seems to be one of the only nice places for lunch in the area, other than fast food. The food was simple but good and reasonably priced. The decor is old diner style, as well as the food. I ordered the teriyaki beef salad; tender strips of steak glazed in teriyaki sauce over a bed of fresh greens and grilled vegetables. My wife ordered the chicken burger. Both were good. What&#39;s unique about this diner is it is part of the Galpin Motors Car Dealership. What a great idea! You can drop your car off for service and have a nice breakfast of lunch while you wait.

The original 94th Aero Squadron was an American flying unit (yes, biplanes) commanded by Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker who earned the Medal of Honor for his Ace performance in World War I. He would be proud of how this restaurant, named after his unit that still exists today at the United States Air Force Academy, has lived up to the reputation of the 94th. Here are authentic WWI replaces (and originals) of airplanes, ambulances, and a full-on recreation of a French farm house, with bomb damage and bullet hose, to greet you. Inside is a delightful dining room and bar. Panoramic windows oversee runway 16R of Van Nuys Airport, one the busiest general aviation airports in the world. Dozens of business jets will arrive and depart while you dine. The service is great, the food extremely tasty, the scenery fantastic. Be like Capt. Rickenbacker and throw your hat into the ring, inside the 84th Aero Squadron restaurant.

We went for a birthday dinner party. Everything planned a head of time. Which is why I was surprised at how mediocre the food and service, and a few meals downright bad. My filet mignon was tasteless, the vegetables undercooked. My partner&#39;s salmon was dry, He requested no vegetables, was supposed to come with rice pilaf instead a scoop of white rice. Dreadful. Another guest sent her prime rib back. Served well done without any horseradish or au jus. We asked for another basket of bread(we were a large table), never arrived. Drinks were fine, desserts acceptable, spinach dip was good. Even though the atmosphere was fun, lots of airport history and next to the runway, I will not be going back.

Have been eating there and mostly ordering food to be delivered for the past 10 yrs. Prior to that it was located on Nordhoff down my Woodly. Now it is just east of Balboa in the shopping center where El Pollo and Las Hadas are located. We love their tri salads and roast beef sandwiches. Breakfast is also good there. It is always busy which tells you it is a neighborhood favorite and is consistent as to the quality of food. Not as good as Brents but an excellent one for second place.

The honesty of the eight points according to the standard of the Americans can not eat at all!
