What travelers say:
While visiting/vacationing in the Los Angeles, CA, we went searching for a different variety of food for dinner, other than the typical Mexican and Chinese food in our area. Just by chance we found El Cochinito, we were glad we did! This little restaurant is tucked away in a small strip of stores. My husband had the shredded beef stew, rice and black beans. Our daughter had the garlic shrimp with beans and rice and the chicken soup. I had the Cuban sandwich and sweet plantains. Our daughter had a friend with her, she too ordered the chicken soup and a side of rice. The girls were surprised at how good the soup was with pieces of chicken, slices of corn on the cob, and other veggies. My husband's stew had a variety of peppers, onions, peas and tomatoes. The garlic shrimp was seasoned very well and shrimp were plenty full and big. The Cuban sandwich was delicious! Had a Cuban in port o Rico a few years ago, but this one had it beat!! The plantains were so sweet and grilled to perfection! We understand how it was voted one of LA'S best little places to eat. If in the Sunset Blvd area, look for this place, you won't be disappointed!
