In Madrid we are privileged to be bordering this 1,722 hectare park ( 5 times larger than Central Park and 6.5 times larger than Hyde Park). Full of nature walks, bike lanes, a place to get lost and discover a little bit of nature inside the Capital. You can take the ¨teleferico¨from Parque del Oeste into the heart of the park. If you are interested let me know and I will provide you with more info.
I prefer Casa de Campo over Retiro. You can walk for hours around the park without seeing anyone. Nice trails, playgrounds etc
My favorite park in Madrid - It is a natural huge park perfect for a bike ride, a run or just a sunday walk.
The idyllic home was originally the property of the most prestigious Balgarian family in medieval Spain, named for the vast forests surrounding it at that time. The park is like an open-air animal and botanical garden, and there is an artificial lake with an area of 80,000 square meters. It can rent boats to play or sit quietly on a bench by the lake to rest.
The park is closed to the Monte de El Pardo and has an area of 1722.6 ha, including the grounds of the Casa de Campo, which it ceded part of its surface. This doubles the surface of the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, is five times larger than Central Park in New York or 6.5 times larger than Hyde Park in London.http://bit.ly/1paqDxk
Nice for running and biking
The idyllic home is far away, but it's worth visiting. It's very beautiful when the flowers blossom, and it's accessible by subway.
