Chiang Mai Elephant Sanctuary Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Feed elephants in Chiang Mai
There are many elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai, please do your research and choose an ethical one! I recommend "Chiang Mai elephant sanctuary" . I did a half day tour with a group that was small, so it was like a private tour. The van picked me up in front of my Hotel at 7 am in the morning, and the ride there was 1 and a half hours long. The road does get a bit bumpy whole you're approaching the sanctuary in the jungle. We had a great guide, Robert, who gave us a lot of information, and helped us take some grrt photos. Interacting with the elephants is so amazing, we got to feed them, gove them a mud bath and then wash them off in a river. They're gentle giants 😊😊🐘🐘

Perfect Trip to Chiangmai
Chiangmai is awesome! The food in the north is a little different than other parts of Thailand. Definitely check out an elephant sanctuary and the mountains. Go on a hike. Walk around the town and see the wall what’s left of it. It is peaceful there and not so much of a hustle and bustle everyday. People are friendly as always. Try a latte for sure with full sugar at least once. explore, explore, explore!#thailand #chiangmai #mountain #elephantsanctuary
Elephants in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is famous for its numerous elephant sanctuaries that provide ethical living for these beautiful animals! I visited the Elephant nature park which is a rescue and rehabilitation centre where you may volunteer to feed them. Half day tours are available if you don't have time to do a full day tour. Lunch is often also included in these activities.

In Thailand, I had the privilege of feeding, bathing, and caring for elephants. Witnessing their joyful response as they eagerly accepted food and playfully splashed in the river was truly unforgettable. It deepened my appreciation for these incredible creatures and the need to protect their well-being and natural habitats.

Chiang Mai Elephant Friends Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A Rustic Getaway
If you're up for some adventure in the mountains with friendly elephants, then I would definitely recommend staying with Elephant Friends Chiang Mai. The cabin was basic with a wetroom. However, the views were absolutely amazing to wake up to.
Breakfast is included, and they have a restaurant called Tawan that makes a really delicious Khao Soi! Perfect for lunch.
There are many activities to participate in. We chose the elephant wake-up call, bamboo rafting, and a rough ride up to some gorgeous old temples. I would definitely recommend Elephant Friends Chiang Mai. In fact, I wish we'd stayed a little longer.
The staff are genuinely friendly, interested, and helpful!
Have an adventure!

Road Trip To Chang Mai Elephant Friends
Many people who comes to Thailand are afraid to drive, but do you know this is the best place for road trip around especially in changmai where kost of the popular attractions are located outside of the city of changmai.
We visited the Chang Mai Elephant Friends located at 202 Moo 9 T, Mae Win, Mae Wang District which is roughly a pit a 60-90mins drive depending on traffic from the city of chang mai. And plus, the car rentals here are super cheap especially if you also rent it via the trip app which gives you promotional discounts.
The Chang Mai Elephant Friends also offers accommodation but we didn't stay, instead we just took a half day trip to visit the elephants, understanding the car of the elephants and of course you will not be able to sit the Elephant here as this place provides utmost care to them, making them happy elephants ^^
Do consider a drive down here, the road trip also gives you a scenic drive to absorb the beautiful surrounding of Thailand!

Chai Lai Orchid Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
An unforgettable experience
A day that you will never forget!
Chai Lao Orchid is amazing from the get go.
we chose the 1 day elephant jungle expedition, we were collected from our hotel at 8am to make our way into the jungle, as soon as you arrive at Chai Lai Orchid you can see the elephants roaming around freely. Within minutes of being there I was introduced to their eldest elephant, named Grandma. it’s such a surreal moment to standing in front of these beautiful calm giants. The day included a small hike to go rafting on a nearby river, feeding the elephants, washing & playing with the elephants in the river, being taught how to cook food in the traditional Karen tribe way and waterfalls.
It has been the most amazing day of my travels so far and it’s going to be hard to top it.

Some time ago, I went to Chiang Mai. In order to avoid the crowds in the ancient city, I booked an old town outside the old town, there is an elephant called Chai Lai Orchid. I took a bus from the old town and it was about 3040 minutes. (Playing GRAB, the price is 600-800 baht)
arrived at the hotel, greet us is the landlord Alexa

Elephant Freedom Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Dream do come true.
Nestled deep within the verdant heart of Thailand's jungle, Chiang Mai, Elephant Freedom Village is where dreams of elephant encounters come to life. It was a dream I had cherished for years, and the moment I set foot in this sanctuary, I knew it was a dream about to be realized.
The service and friendliness of the staff at Elephant Freedom Village were truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt like a welcomed guest in their elephant-loving family. Their warm smiles and genuine passion for elephant conservation created an atmosphere of genuine care and dedication.
But it was the elephants that stole the show, as they roamed freely and majestically through the lush landscape. These magnificent creatures, rescued from the harsh realities of logging and tourism, had found a second chance at life here. The bond between the elephants and their caretakers was evident in every interaction, built on trust, respect, and love.
During my visit, I had the privilege of not just observing but actively participating in the elephants' daily routines. I fed them their favorite treats, bathed them in the glistening river, and even embarked on a jungle trek with these gentle giants by my side. The connection I felt with nature and these incredible animals was beyond words.
What set Elephant Freedom Village apart was not just the unforgettable experience they provided but also their tireless commitment to elephant conservation. They were on a mission to raise awareness about the challenges these incredible creatures face and were actively involved in their rescue and rehabilitation.
As my dream came true that day, I couldn't help but feel immense gratitude for the Elephant Freedom Village. They not only made my dream a reality but also inspired me to join their cause. Supporting them and donating to their mission is not just about dreams; it's about ensuring that elephants continue to roam the jungles, free and magnificent, for generations to come.
I encourage everyone to visit their page, learn about their incredible work, and contribute to this vital cause. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that the elephants of Thailand, and indeed the world, enjoy lives of freedom and dignity. Join the journey, and let's protect these amazing creatures for future generations to admire and cherish.
